WORKSHOP - EASY STAINED GLASS QUILTS
Description: |
Use any stained glass pattern, one of Phyllis’ (see them on the PORTFOLIO page), or create your own. You will then make a raw-edge fusible-appliquéd, and quilted piece that not only looks like real stained glass but requires no fussy edge treatments, no bias tape, no fussy quilting, and is quick, easy, and fun!
Then we may add some optional oil stick painting, optional applique, or optional embellishment, and quilt either free motion or regular/walking foot. This class is appropriate for beginners, who will learn basic free-motion quilting as well. |

Instruction hours: |
6 total hours of instruction, may be done in one day, but if divided into two 3 hour sessions, everyone can catch up and learn the optional part and the free motion quilting. Recording of classes provided to students. Full access to teacher between classes via email.

Tools & materials: |
When materials lists are included in class fees (as for Quilts, Inc classes) all you need is a small rotary cutter and a mat.if you have paid a "materials fee" or have ordered a kit: You just need to bring a rotary cutter (any size), scissors, a small cutting mat, and your sense of adventure!
For zoom classes handout and pattern choices will be emailed to registered participants well in advance of the workshop. For in-person workshops, all materials will be provided in your materials kit. For students participating via Zoom, a materials kit can be ordered in advance. In lieu of materials fee or supply kit, you will need: Black (base) fabric\ 12 x16 charm pack or jelly roll of solids and/or batiks (or a good assortment of scraps) Background fabric(s) black design on white Black misty fuse 12 x16 (no substitutions. (Mistyfuse.com or from instructor if not avilable locally. ask your local quilt sho to carry it!). This will be fused to the front of your base black fabric Freezer paper 12x16 Nonstick sheet full size (Goddess or teflon, fiberglass, etc, Or parchment paper) Plus a mini of same Transfer paper (transdoodle highly recommended. Mistyfuse.com if not available from me or locally) Backing fabric 14 x20,Batting 12 x16,Small rotary cutter and mat and/or scissors Travel iron,Sewing machine with free motion foot,Variegated thread Drawing paper.Pencil/pen, or fine line marker Handouts and full size patterns will be provided in class |
